Busy with BikeWeek

Tuesday, March 2nd, 2010

This is the week for the annual spring BikeWeek in Daytona. I am working the event mixing sound at the Full Moon Saloon on Main Street in Daytona Beach. This is cutting into my time to fuss with the websites (in a moderately good way). I also worked a second gig on Sunday at the Freedom Rally held at the Volusia County Fairgrounds.

I am going to try to get an article or two posted. I have the free PDF on WebSite Basics available from my ‘Before You Buy a WebSite‘ site and I need to support the site a bit. I am also making a few blog posts, primarily about the event.

While going through some of my traffic today I noticed that my Buzzle article supporting the ‘Mixer in a Box‘ site was showing with a higher search position than my site, but they were both on page one of the search results. Traffic is building on several sites, and that is a good thing. With the number of sites that I have up there is always a list of things that need to be done. Most of my sites need more content, some basic content and some tweaked for on page SEO.

I will have more time next week to get to some of those things, but the season is cranking up and I need to tend to the business that pays the bills. I will continue to make steady progress.

If you check some of my sites and have any suggestions please leave a comment. Thanks!

If you are in Daytona for the rally stop in and say ‘hello’ at the Full Moon Saloon. I am there from 8:30 PM ’til.

The AdSense Threshold

Tuesday, October 6th, 2009

September marked a milestone. I reached the AdSense threshold for payout from Google (on the 29th or 30th). Sometime within the next couple of weeks there will be a small sum of money show up in my bank account. This will be much fun. It will also go a long way toward paying for the hosting for my little hobby sites.

The initial payment threshold is $100.00. If I recall correctly payments after the initial threshold are in $10.00 minimum increments. If that is the case I will probably get another payment or two before I need to re-up on my hosting account.

In other news, I have had four articles published by article sites. I have seen some additional traffic from these articles already and should continue to see some increase for some time to come. If any of these should get picked up by a high traffic site I could see considerable traffic, but that is a rather large ‘IF’. It is among the first real site promotion that I have tried and I can see that  it could be of value. I had two articles accepted by Ezine@rticles. The first two they had rejected, so this was a minor victory. The two articles that Ezine had rejected went one to Buzzle and one to GoArticles. Ezine@rticles has very high standards for the articles that they will publish, but that makes being published there of greater value.
